PARIS PALETTE: THE COLOURS EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT – NZ
October 1, 2025 | By The Textile Company | News
We’ve kicked off the year across our New Zealand showrooms, sharing insights gathered on the ground at Paris Déco Off.
Through a series of events, our teams translated these influences into tactile mood boards – bringing this year’s defining colour directions into focus.
From hands-on presentations to layered material displays, each event was designed to explore how colour is evolving across interiors.
KEY COLOUR INSIGHTS
As highlighted in Belle, this year’s direction signals a move toward more grounded, enduring palettes – drawing on historical references and traditional textile design, reinterpreted for contemporary interiors.
“In terms of colour, there was a letting go of the creams and plain neutrals, stepping into strong, natural & earthy muted tones which have been around, but are now a mainstay,” says Jessica. This shift encompassed shades including: “Khaki, Terracotta, Sienna, Caramels, Worn Saddle, Pale Pistachios, Olives, Mustards and Denims.”
Building on this, our team translated these insights into a series of in-showroom moodboards – bringing the palettes to life through material and texture. Earth-led tones form the foundation, softened by warmer accents, while nuanced greens and denim blues introduce depth and balance.
Rather than standing alone, these colours are designed to be layered, expressed through surface, weave and finish to create a more tactile and dimensional result.
EMERGING IN OUR COLLECTIONS
These colour directions are already coming through across our New Zealand collections – interpreted through texture, pattern and materiality.
Phillip Jeffries continues to explore depth through surface, with tonal wallcoverings that bring subtle variation and richness to neutral palettes. Gastón y Daniela introduces more decorative pattern and colour, layering sienna, mustard and denim tones with character and depth. Glant reinforces this direction through its existing ranges, where enduring palettes continue to feel relevant and refined. Prestigious Textiles further supports this shift, offering a material approach to colour through finish and surface.
