JEAN MONRO

(Australia)

Established in 1982 by Jean Monro, daughter of the famous decorator of the 1920s Geraldine Monro, the brand is renowned for its elegant English chintzes and meticulous hand-block printing.

Jean Monro fabrics are primarily made in England using traditional, time-honoured printing methods and is one of the very few companies still editing hand-block designs.

Discover THE HAND-BLOCK PRINTING PROCESS

Jean Monro is famous for its artisinal hand-block designs. This process requires an apprenticeship of several years, often involving hundreds of different blocks and naturally, takes a long time to produce. The effect achieved is worth the wait, as it produces a look that cannot be satisfactorily copied by any other method.
