“Inspired by the conversation pits of the 1970s and Melbourne’s intimate bar culture, Snug Club reimagines a compact studio apartment as a richly layered retreat for gathering, music and conversation.

At the centre of the space sits a custom-designed conversation pit upholstered in Camengo’s Illinois velvet jacquard in Bronze. Chosen for its dynamic woven motif and exceptional tactile richness, the fabric introduces depth, warmth and rhythm to the interior. The raised weave responds beautifully to the changing light, while the interlocking pattern accentuates the sculptural form of the pit and creates a strong visual anchor within the room.

Rich in atmosphere and texture, the project is an exploration of mood, materiality and memory, resulting in a space that feels both transportive and deeply personal.”
