The Textile Company & Space Furniture
When Space Furniture set out to reimagine the final moment of their Alexandria showroom journey, they turned to Phillip Jeffries Daybreak mural – a large-scale wallcovering customised in collaboration with The Textile Company to perfectly frame the showroom’s Maxalto collection.
The result is more than a backdrop: it’s an immersive, quietly luxurious finale that invites visitors to slow down, take in the atmosphere and experience a true sense of arrival. We sat down with the team behind the project to talk sourcing, scaling and what makes Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings so distinctive.
Talk us through the sourcing process for the wall you were recovering in the showroom? What was the vision and how did you land on the Phillip Jeffries Daybreak design?
We were seeking a large‑scale mural that could envelop the environment and become part of the story we were building around the brand Maxalto and it’s collection and the idea of living with rituals. To achieve this, the backdrop needed to evoke a sense of escape – something that could dissolve into comfort, familiarity and quiet luxury.

I understand we customised the Daybreak for you – customising the height and scaling the design against your brief. Can you talk us through this process?
Scaling the wallpaper was essential to ensure we captured the correct segments of the Phillip Jeffries design and that the proportions worked in harmony with the furniture. Cropping the artwork too tightly would have resulted in either excessive sky or too many hills. Collaborating with Textile Company to achieve the precise scale allowed us to land on the perfect outcome.

When you think of Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings, what words first come to mind?
Phillip Jeffries wallpaper immediately evokes luxury, texture and customisation.

What has been the reaction to the Daybreak from your clients now it’s installed in the Alexandria showroom?
The reaction to Daybreak has been consistently strong since its installation in the Alexandria showroom. As part of the showroom journey, it’s important that the final moment feels special, a sense of arrival that reinforces Space as a luxury brand. I’ve noticed clients pausing, taking in the atmosphere, and absorbing the full experience. The Phillip Jeffries Daybreak backdrop has created exactly that moment: a quiet, immersive finale that encourages people to slow down and appreciate the environment.
